We sell and install mulch by the cubic yard. We are also willing to purchase and deliver to a site for clients who wish to install the materials themselves. For those familiar with a wheelbarrow’s volume I have found that a cubic yard is roughly eight (8) wheelbarrows worth of material.
$75 per cubic yard of Shredded Hardwood Mulch (Delivered and Installed)*
*Areas with difficult approaches, steps, extreme grade changes and pathways which impede or stop the passage of a wheelbarrow add to the time it takes for us to install the material and thus adds to the cost. Conversely, large purchases can modify the price downward.
How do our prices compare to a homeowner purchasing the mulch themselves, by the bag? One bag of mulch is generally two (2) cubic feet of material, $2.15-$3.88 (as of 09/03/2010)
One Cubic Yard = twenty-seven (27) cubic feet = 14 bags of mulch = $30.10-$54.32 (Before Sales Tax, Without counting your time to pick it up, loading and unloading the vehicle or installing the materials into your planting areas)
